Putting Files Online

1. Switch back to Local view
2. Select your index.html file
3. Click the Put File(s) button

You should get a Dependent Files dialogue box, asking if you want Dreamweaver to put all the files associated with the index.html page (like embedded pictures and attached CSS sheets). Since this is the first time you are putting this file, you want Dreamweaver to take care of this for you, so choose Yes:

Putting Dependent Files is a GREAT feature with Dreamweaver (when it works correctly). Otherwise, you have to put all the embedded pictures and attached CSS sheets on your own. In the future, you can choose No if your associated files haven't changed - no need to put the same thing up over and over again.

Sometimes the Dependent Files feature does not work properly. You can change to Remote view to find out, or, even better... visit your site online!
